Hi Everyone,

Hi,

How are you?

I am looking for part time tutoring opportunity. I have two degrees in Computer Science (CS) - Master of Science in CS and a Bachelor of Science in CS (Summa Cum Laude- Highest Honors). I also have approximately 3 years of teaching experience in CS courses, from Introduction to CS courses to Software Engineering courses. I tutor English, Math, and Computer Science ranging from primary school level to University level. My rates range from $220 to $400 per hour (min of 2 hours per session) depending on the subject, your kid's education level and location. My tutoring method is different from your average tutor, on top of answering questions, I prepare classes and notes for your kid.

Please contact me if you are interested.

Thanks.

Elsa.

Hi,

Can you tell me more as to what you want to know about those two software systems? Are you looking for operational instructions? Or are you trying to understand the theory before the applications, e.g. how does database work? What are the different types of databases? How to perform queries?

Anyways, I haven't used either of the software systems before, but give me a week or so and also access to those two software systems, I can teach you about those software systems.

Thanks.

Elsa.

Hi

Could you please let me know if you would be willing to tutor an adult in Maths - towards passing the maths section of a psychometric test?    I look forward to your reply.  Lyn

a week on SAP and you're able to teach it? Can't imagine why you would be advertising your services on an online forum if you're such a genius!

I have been using the CO/FI modules and wanted to know how goods she was.   I am also a Oracle Essbase and HFM certified.  It took me more than 10 yers on Essbase and 5-6 years of CO/FI on SAP.  One week would be too short for someone to understand ERP and gain functional expertise.  The problem with computers is that the skills get obsolete eventually if one does not upgrade.  Furthermore, stuff like SAP and Oracle essbase and HFM are expensive to learn.  One usually gets the knowledge while working for large corporations.  I even doubt that she is ITIL certified which was a huge change a few years back in the industry.   Roll Eyes
Pret,

Why did you have to sting her?  She's just offering a service which would enrich Caribbean Coast with education.  Do you think other people would be so brave to offer their services after see what just happened here?

I am a computer scientist with software engineering background. If I was to teach you something related to a software application, my prospective would be coming from how the software was built and how data can be manipulated or something along that line (of course that is if I can get those information related to the application and have access to the application). If you need training on how to use the software application, you can always take classes or read reference materials. I teach the theory behind and don't provide training on how to use software application.

Maybe I should clarify the kind of teaching I do:

E.g. Let say you would like to learn how to use Unified Modeling Language (UML) within the software lifecycle - you would learn what the different types of techniques  (e.g. Use cases, state chart, ... )within UML are. What is the purpose of each one? How does each technique work? And which technique is more useful during each phase within the software lifecycle? E.g. More likely you would be using use-case and use-case diagram during the requirement analysis phase.

E.g. Let say you are interested in learning an object oriented language - you would learn the basic concepts of object oriented language, i.e. objects, classes, information hiding, abstraction, polymorphism, .... And then we would pick an object oriented language and learn the semantics and syntax of the language.

As for your comment about being able to teach SAP within a week, I never claim that I would be an expert in SAP after a week nor did I say I would know SAP like the back of my hand after a week. I would learn the portion you need explanation on and would teach you in that particular area. If the recipient likes what he/she hears from the first lesson, then we can go from there and discuss how we are going to proceed with the lessons down the road.

I don't appreciate when people are posting sarcastic comments. If you don't agree with that was being posted, you can always ignore the message and move on to do something else. I am sure you have more important things to do. I just like teaching CS related subjects and more importantly, I didn't force anyone to use my service. If you have doubts on my qualifications and what I can do, feel free to find someone that you think is qualified to teach on in the area you need.

Pret, If you know ERP so well then you should be knowing that it has not changed since the first time the word was tossed. And more so the promises and expectations it created. And I guess it will never change too because the fundamentals of the businesses never change. If you are talking about applications, yes there are plenty and there will be plenty. SAP, oracle and thousand more. Some might be using DOS and some might be using webservices. But they all do the same. If you are talking about standards, there will be plenty too. ISO, ITIL, DNV and thousand more. Everytime there is a G20 or some other meeting there will be a new standard...thats because people always find loopholes in the systems and there will be a new standard to tackle every loophole.
So just by knowing a few acronyms does not mean that you are expert in ERP and you can start questioning others in the way you do.

Apple, sorry to occupy your space. I hope you succeed in teaching here and the people here succeed from your teachings.
