I have been using the CO/FI modules and wanted to know how goods she was. I am also a Oracle Essbase and HFM certified. It took me more than 10 yers on Essbase and 5-6 years of CO/FI on SAP. One week would be too short for someone to understand ERP and gain functional expertise. The problem with computers is that the skills get obsolete eventually if one does not upgrade. Furthermore, stuff like SAP and Oracle essbase and HFM are expensive to learn. One usually gets the knowledge while working for large corporations. I even doubt that she is ITIL certified which was a huge change a few years back in the industry.

Pret, If you know ERP so well then you should be knowing that it has not changed since the first time the word was tossed. And more so the promises and expectations it created. And I guess it will never change too because the fundamentals of the businesses never change. If you are talking about applications, yes there are plenty and there will be plenty. SAP, oracle and thousand more. Some might be using DOS and some might be using webservices. But they all do the same. If you are talking about standards, there will be plenty too. ISO, ITIL, DNV and thousand more. Everytime there is a G20 or some other meeting there will be a new standard...thats because people always find loopholes in the systems and there will be a new standard to tackle every loophole.
So just by knowing a few acronyms does not mean that you are expert in ERP and you can start questioning others in the way you do.
Apple, sorry to occupy your space. I hope you succeed in teaching here and the people here succeed from your teachings.
