Hi. My wife's access card works everywhere ( the bus, common lift, and clubhouse) except our tower's card reader. A few weeks ago she had the MTR replaced her card due to this same problem and the replacement card worked for a couple of days until the problem reappeared. She had been to the Management office a couple of times already but their staff seems clueless on what seems to be the culprit. They have reset her card a couple of times now but the problem has not yet been resolved. Has anybody  experience this particular problem? Any suggestions and possible solutions from you guys will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Do you by any chance have another octopus card (like your kid's card) in your wallet that is not configured for your tower's reader. Just a wild guess!!!

Thanks for the reply. I believe another unconfigured card is  not the culprit because she took out the octopus card from the wallet and presented it against the reader. We will be heading to the MO again later today and i hope they'll have a solution for it now.

you could try buying one of those protective card sleeves in case another card inside the wallet is causing problems with the Octopus card - or in case there is something at home that is emitting EM/RF (computer, TV, etc) which might damage the card.

Problem solved!

The MO rectified the error on their computer database.
