Great Japanese place called Gyu Kaku would be awesome at the old Aviator joint! I used to go there when I lived in Japan. Seems to be dotted around the world. http://www.gyu-kaku.com/Someone get a franchise and make it so! What a good place! ...

Why another Japanese place ?? One across the road and also in the food court. TC needs a great place to go with excellent service and food to match. Why is that so difficult ?? Aviator could have been turned around in three months, with some care, focus and vision. I agree, too big, but space was used all wrong.. Oh well, let's see what comes next... Hear Stormies looked at it, but rental asking is far too high..

Japanese food need not be expensive... although a dude with your heavy wallet probably frequents such high end joints.... Kanpai!

My money is on 1) more property agents offices and 2) 7-11/Circle K to fill the Av's old space.
It would be great if another pub opened there, provided it was properly managed. But I'm not holding my breath.
Zentro is ok but it too has lots of problems, starting with poor service.

one year on and the place is still empty/aviator fitout - how on earth is this possible? My first thought was Pizza Hut to take over that space, as the seating area would double compare to their current location. There have been rumors of some F&B groups to take it on, but nothing. Even a supermarket would work in that space, there's another dozen towers right on top of it!
same for the spaces around Zentros, these are empty for a few years now, likely because of the ridiculous rent expectations. is there really nobody that bothers (within the property 'management')?

I would guess that there are simply too many restaurants and shops in TC already. As you observe the stupid landlord would prefer to keep it empty and rent free in the vain hope of getting a high rent from some tenant who most likely would go out of business, anyway, because of the high rent. It seems so obvious that some rent is better than no rent... Oh well, what do I know.

If the Aviator had been properly run it would still be open. Unfortunately it was run into the ground by a bunch of incompetents. Food was bad, service was poor, and even the beer was messed up - it was always flat and tasted bad. If Av mgmt had kept the food at a decent standard, employed trained and motivated staff, and kept the beer pipes clean, they'd be around and making money today.
Zentro is taking up some of the trade that would have gone to Aviator, but it has of problems of its own. Plus it's been open for more than a year and still nothing else has opened in that Seaview plaza area.
I wouldn't say there are too many restaurants in TC. In fact I think the F&B offerings in TC are quite sad, considering the size and makeup of the population.
