Just moved to Tower 16, happily decorating. I've a couple of photos and frames that I need to hang on the walls. Are there any cheap handymen around? Or should I just buy a hammer and couple of nails and go about it?
Someone I met on the MTR mentioned a sticky thing that can be used to hang stuff, but couldn't tell me the english name. Any ideas?
Appreciate response. Cheers!

I think you may find these selling at Japan Home Center in the CC mall.

They are total crap and fall out if the pixs are of any size. I tried some on my bathroom door to hold Missus's bathrobe but it fell off within a couple of days. Never heard the last of it, despite the fact she's a bit of a porker and her robe weighs more than two maids.
You need a drill and rawlplug if anything substantial and to avoid ear ache.

all talkers no doers I have a powerful Bosch hammer drill that will drill a hole on any wall in less than one minute. The problem is I now live away from Caribbean Coast. How much are you willing to pay to do the job

Only way to hang pictures is the drill and the plastic screw insert. Only wall I couldn't drill into was the master bedroom in the H flat--rock solid. Best time to do it is Sunday morning, or that's what my neighbour thinks.

We must be sharing the same neighbour... Sunday mornings are popular for drilling.

I do a lot of stuff myself.. the best thing if you have a drill & a wooden piece , thats really strong , even plastic ones come out , if your pictures are heavy , then its best. Dont go for sticky ones , they can come out anytime & may damage ur precious pictures...

The 3M things are great and look like this picture. They are available from the Japan Home store in the Caribbean bazaar for $24.50 each. We use them and they have been fine. They even come off the crap paint here without ripping it (when you remove them properly according to the directions). We only use them for smaller pictures though - photo frames etc - and not for huge framed works of art. For anything over 5 lbs, you need to drill a hole in the wall and use wall plugs and a screw as the others have said.
