A few weeks ago, I was taking out my nightly trash. I spotted this massive cockroach on the floor as soon as I opened the door to the hopper room. I leaped back in surprise and the cockroach jumped out of the room (possibly I had scared it!). It seemed to wait to see what I was going to do next. I hurriedly stuffed my bag of rubbish into the bin and fled the scene. Afterwards I reported the matter to the lobby who told me they would get a cleaner to come up and sanitise the hopper room thoroughly.
As for inside the apartment, I've never encountered a cockroach. There used to be a problem with silverfish but they seem to have all gone now.
That sounds like Joe the head-cockroach and is a bit braver than the rest of the gang. Lucky for you that Joe was alone. Normally, he is accompanied by a team of no less than 10 subordinates who are a centurions.
