According to the information stuffed in my mail box it looks like they want to put up private walkways, security & the related budget was noted as a reason.
Does this mean they will no longer have the security persons on the walkway? Does it mean they will no longer use their Octo cards to enter the building? How will they access the walkway? Will they not have a person in the lobby? If you must access the walkway before the lobby who will deal with visitors?
Will this start a trend where each area will need for this sort of walkway instead of security?

They did that a few years a go and then it was discovered that the land was public. If they pay the government by purchasing the rights then this is possible.

I was told they want to put a glass partition on the walkway so to split in two, this way only 2 access points (front/back). They'll have to double the number of guards to make sure nobody tries how strong the glass is , hopefully (for CS OC) without injuries Might help if the guards actually did something about it, often enough someone is hanging around until a door opens and then sprints to get inside.

People,
The walkway past Coastal is Public Open Space... they can not put a baracade or any other partician up on any part of it...
In any case if they do put up some kind of partician on the walkway lets wait till they have spent the money and completed it vthen we can make a report to the Govt and they will then be forced to take it down at their own expence..
In other words I am looking forward to the fun and games if they put up soem kind of partician...
Zorro...

Hi all our good friends,
I received a letter from the DOC of CS in August then I immediately consult feedback from SVC where I am the chairman there, and also consult CC PH3 owners when I become an OC there too on 15/9.
Please feel free to express your opinion here or email me or PM me or fill in the reply form to me to both SVC and CC PH3 lobby, feedback from all estates, all phases are welcome. I will pass our owners' opinion to the DOC of CS after 20/10.
I believe I can get over 100 feedback from all estates in TC, including CS, I will also disclose the finding and objection ratio online and in our newsletter of both SVC and CC PH3. Thanks.
Warm Regards, Jeff Lam Yuet

3 years ago when there was a council election, there was a candidate who heavily promoted her promise to CLOSE the CS walkway, so she won the election with support from CS with about 500 votes only.
After years when now everyone realises that it is nearly impossible to close a public space, some fans/friends/policiticans passed their failaure in delivering election promise by passing the ressponsibility to the residents nearby, then they may say they cannot do it cos others object.
Why stated a policy that cannot be delivered? Why make up excuse for own failure? Why divide our community by closing some public area? Why no other ways to gain support but create conflict to gain the 500 votes?
There are many ways to serve our residents and appeal to voters, I hope people in charge and in power to stand on the same side of us residents, put our interest in front of personal/ policitic interest of his/her own.
I also hope more voters can come out to protect their own rights so nobody can be in power by only saying dream words for only 500 people in our 30000 people community. Thx all.
GOOD LUCK CC & TC!

Jeff, I can save you a lot of time. You will find no one in CC who would support the blocking off of the walk way.
If it is public open space, surely CS people are wasting their time. There is no need to consult, surely? The answer is OBVIOUS!
To be clear, I object to any partition of public space.

I'm sorry, but has there been a lot of burglaries or something at CS that we don't know about?
Is that public walkway a notorious enrty point for nefarious characters?
Is there something we're not being told about the safety of that place that is driving the idea to create a glass partion between the holier than thou's and us lesser mortals?
Sure if someone is going to sneak / break in and can get through the existing security entrance at each block, they could also do the same at either end of this new walkway.....
Maybe I'm confused.

hi our good friends, thx for all information, from my understanding, there is nearly NO crimial offense happened in CS so far so I am not sure what security matter the DOC of CS refers to.
I also understnad nearly NObody will support their plan but to be fair, I still choose to consult owners in all estates including CS. And be honest, to avoid politicians and bad OC members to pass the failaure, responsibility and anger to us by blaming us, it would be good to fully consult residents and support our claims with facts. We must be very carefully in serving our community nowadays cos some people are good at making trouble and dividing our community. Thanks.

Jeff it just feels like you are wasting your time.
That space is public space and surely it is impossible to partition off any part of it. Security concerns are nonsense. This is pretty much the safest place on Earth. Sometimes some residents behave so preciously it is simply laughable.
They have nothing else to fill their little lives with than make troubloe and a nuisance for the rest of us. Sad.

Anyone else ever see CS residents bringing their illegally kept dogs down in handbags, prams, suitcases etc so their pets can relieve themselves in our estate? It would be tragic if this security partition disrupted that traffic, just tragic.

I was one of the people that had a run in with the CS security and Police when they unlawfully blocked it of a few years ago. Police told them then it was public and security couldn't stop anybody. At that time they wanted us to walk on the road in the rain.
They took defeat badly and started to turn off the escalators & lift at CC end to make life difficult so you get some idea what type of small minded people we are talking about
It's a bit like the Falklands. I battled for it once and I sure ain't going to rollover to someone just because it's on their doorstep and therefore it's theirs to rule.
It's a public walkway (same as goes past CC) and designated on the land deeds which all CS owners knew about when they purchased. If they didn't check that's their fault.
There are no security issues, this is simple "no riff raff outside my house" selfish mentality. Fencing off shows just what childish arses they are.
Consult? I am even surprised they condescended to talk to the scum from the cheap estate next door.

By happy coincidence it is Mrs Thatchers 85th birthday, so if we needed a task force to sort this out I am sure she would be up for it.
