HNY to all....

Just a note to say we went to Zentro Garden the other day (when the weather was a bit better) and must say I was very pleasantly surprised!  After a bad experience not long after it opened we thought we'd give it another try and it seems they've really improved on the areas that let us down the first time.  The food was delivered quickly, the staff were attentive and the dishes were delicious (a mix of fish and chipo, curries and burgers - real healthy stuff!).

According to the manager at the time they expect to be able to offer Tung Chung residents a discount in the coming months, maybe 10-15%, but that was pending approval.

Will definately be back - once the sun comes out again that is.....

I really like Zento's. Its got a nice relaxed atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. I would say the curry dishes are very hard to beat and probably as good as I've ever had elsewhere. Wrap up though if its a cold day :-)

The problem with Zentro is that most of its space is outdoors and for quite a lot of the year it's not all that pleasant to drink/dine outdoors in HK. I wish they had a better balance of indoor/outdoor space. I bet the mgmt wishes that too.

Every other shop in that area is vacant and shows every sign of remaining that way. I wonder if Zentro could get a good deal on additional space and expand a bit.

I hope this doesnt sound too negative. I am quite happy that Zentro is there and I am a semi-frequent customer - Stella on draft and all that.... Grin

 Huh

I was there on Monday evening after seeing the positive comments. Well I don't know if there is another Zentro Garden. The beers, both on tap and from the fridge were warm, the service was.. well there was no service, it was exactly as I saw before, like an effort to get up and serve someone as they were ALL eating. There were 4 containers on noodles across the bar, cooling on the counter from the kitchen. Place was untidy, same manager.. nothing has changed, nothing has improved.

I was in there last Saturday night. Service was just ok. Despite the place being open more than a year, all the wait staff still appear to be amateurs, which can be annoying. The food was ok to good. I never rated the food that highly, so I was actually pleasantly surprised. There was a good-sized crowd there, mostly the usual Tung Chung gentry including its more feral element, but they were fairly well behaved so it wasn't a problem.  Wink

I am hoping Zentro does well because we need all the F&B outlets we can get in TC. (Certainly none will be opening in the CC bazaar - that space is reserved for property agents.) A successful bar/restaurant in the Skyline Crescent 'plaza' might encourage other entrepreneurs to give it a go over there.

Complete mayhem on Sat night--most of the bar littered with unwashed empties, zero service, overheard grumblings such as "that's not my bill"", etc--didn't recognise any of the staff either, tho I haven't been in there for about a month....is it under new management?
