1 June??
They better close it on 1 July as the nights will begin drawing after that... That would be perfect.

I'm sorry but that is totally unnacceptable. 1st of May last year was bad enough, but June is a joke.
How can this be sorted? Surely management can't just make these decisions without some kind of challenge / approval?

I was originally told Phase 2 would open mid-April. Then another day I was told it was needing "renovation works" and would open in June. It's a marvel how it's manage to sit idol since November and MO haven't managed to get the "renovation works" started yet. Well done on those organisational skills.
Phase 1 pool is open, went yesterday and the water was decidedly "cool".... still, it was good to be open with people there enjoying themselves. In particular the kids there seemed overjoyed to get out swimming again...
Just another reminder of how disappointing it is that the Phase 2 pool can't open when people actually want it to.

Thats the only way to focus attention, stop the money from rolling in.
If someone could organise say 10% of owners stopping payment for one month as a protest that would stir things up in a real way.

I've said the same a million times but it never happens. Just curious what the implications of not p??aying are... Can they confiscate your flat or just sue you?

I am just a tenant so my mouth was way bigger than my actual deeds can ever be... But I don't think they can do much else than maybe block your entrance card, which they are probably not even allowed to do.
If you'd pay part of the MO Fee every month, they probably can't do anything as they can't claim you didn't pay the fee. Depends a bit on your contract, but if you have a case they are not delivering what you are actually paying for and tried to solve in friendly manner, you should not run into big issues.
Agree on the point that it is the only thing that really hurts MTR corporation, that and maybe bad publicity.

can't stop paying as you break a contract. Is there any wording in any agreement the MO has about the swimming pool? If not then the various owners committees can try to bring it in next time there is a renewal. if you don't agree on how the government spends its tax money you would stop paying tax? You don't want to find out how long that will last a pool with a snack bar and a sun deck would pay for itself. Instead the unused changing rooms somewhere along tower 9 are now used for the organic shop twice a week (no problem with the organic veggies, but there must be a better place to hide!)

Yes, I agree it is a contractual requirement but contractual requirements are not a one way street neither in legality nor in spirit.
Let me clarify. Of course owners MUST pay the management fee, but if a significant enough number delayed payment for a specific month, say August, then such a move would focus the attention of the MO. Plus the accompanying publicity would be a significant factor. Many people pay their monthly fees late anyway, so no one will be barred or thrown out. It is normal procedure to follow collections policies on overdue payments for such cases and just a month delay in protest would not affect any owner.
What I was trying to suggest would require a suspension of payment for a month, say, or whatever agreed period. Of course, this would need organising and would involve those people involved to stop payment and then re-start payment which will be troublesome to stop and start for example, for those who pay via Autopay. Anyway, if people are serious and motivated it could be something to consider. Just to reiterate, not suggesting not to meet contractual obligations BUT I am suggesting some mild form of civil disobedience to get the attention of the MO. Ifsay 10% of Owners could do this in August as a specific protest then it might work.
Sadly, there is overwhelming apathy amongst owners, it is only the usual suspects who seem to care.
