How sure are you about the location?

I was advised that whatever they build infront of CC was going to be lowrise. We received a survey that asked us if we wanted a convention centre, a megamall, or something else non-threatening to the view. I don't like the looks of this and am willing to band with other people to oppose this development.

DrBubb, regarding the location of area 55b I do not know if it's correct but this map is posted next to the letter on the lobby of tower 2. it's written "area 55b" with a small line indicating this area. I just cover the original red line with a big arrow because the original small line was not so clear on the photo. I found a document dated February 2008 on the government web site (address below) saying this area 55b will be available for sale in march 2009. I also noticed this area is classified as "residential" http://gia.info.gov.hk/general/200802/29/P200802290200_0200_37076.pdf

Just found another document about the sale of lot TCTL37 in area 55b - available March 2009 (address here : http://www.landsd.gov.hk/mapping/en/landsale/2008/ls_t.htm ) and it's linked to this location map. If it happens, owners of flat A-H-B in phase 1 won't be so happy...

Here's my attempt to sketch in some possible tower locations within 55B. It looks like phase one's seaview could be well-blocked

I see on the map a rail line ("Mass Transit Railway") going through CC and CS. Are their plans to build an MTR station for CC?

Ah that's right. One line for the Airport and the other to Citygate (i.e. Tung Chung Station)...

Does anyone know what Residential R2 means?
http://www.epd.gov.hk/epd/english/environmentinhk/water/guide_ref/guide_wpc_stp_8.htmlPrivate housing blocks in R1 zones, Private Sector Participation Schemes and Housing Authority Home Ownership Schemes Residential One (R1) is the highest density residential planned use. Population densities may be around 1 740 persons per hectare, with a maximum plot ratio of 8.0. Generally, densities and plot ratios for Private Sector Participation Schemes and Housing Authority Home Ownership Schemes are similar to those found in R1 estates.
Private housing blocks in R2 zones Residential Two (R2) is a medium density residential planned use. Population densities may be around 1 050 persons per hectare, with a maximum plot ratio of 5.0.
Private housing in R3 and R4 zones, villas and bungalows Residential Three (R3) is a medium to low density residential planned use. Population densities may be around 470 persons per hectare, with a maximum plot ratio of 3.0. Residential Four (R4) is a low density residential planned use. Building height is restricted to no more than 2 storeys with a maximum plot ratio of 0.4.
Modern Village Houses These are limited to a site area of approximately 65 square metres and to a height of 3 storeys, and which are in the New Territories Small House Category.

Guys and Dolls,
Lets fight the fight we can win. The site infront of CC is for sale. It will have a new development on it so lets get used to it and hope it is sold 4 a big price so we can revalue CC...
Cheers,

As far as I can see the helicopters follow the line of the seafront. If there are more buildings in front of CC, I am sure they would have to fly further out over the sea and closer to the aircraft lane- that cannot be good for air safety. Just a thought.
