Hi everyone,

I am looking for some after-school tutoring work in the Caribbean Coast.

I am a qualified and experienced English teacher, specialising in teaching literacy skills to primary school students.

Please send me a private message if you are in need of a qualified, native English speaking tutor.

I charge $450 per hour.  I am also available to tutor small groups at a lower per person cost.

Hi there,

Thanks for the message.  I am a qualified English teacher with 3 years' experience teaching Hong Kong children (primarily P1 - P3 children) reading skills.  Teaching literacy skills is my job, and I have received a lot of training specifically tailored to Hong Kong children, and use a variety of methods (songs, games, regular level testing, guided reading, etc) to give children the tools they need to become independent readers.

While you may have noticed that some teachers (not all of whom are trained) charge $400 or $360, you'll also find that some teachers charge upwards of $500 for their services.  I charge $450 because there is a lot of preparation involved in conducting quality tutorial sessions.

Cheers,

Nick

Whoops!  I just realised that I posted the last message under my wife's account.  Oh well, the message is still the same  Smiley

I don't remember mentioning dancing Huh  What I wrote was that I have received training in those kinds of things, and use a variety of approaches in my lessons.  Songs and rhymes only make up a small proportion of the actual lesson (if they are used at all), and can be used to reinforce vocabulary, teach phonics, motivate the student or simply to warm up.  The kind of lessons the child will receive will depend on many factors, including the his/her learning style, strengths and weaknesses.

It's not like I just walk in to a room, press play and say, "Dance, little one, and then you'll be able to read!"
