Hi
Is there any progress in getting the double glass doors removed from the P & G levels on the car parks lifts outside tower 8 & 15? These are completely useless and totally not required as you still need to swipe your octopus card to get into the car park.
The people who use these lifts are mainly disabled or with prams & heavy shopping. How are you supposed to open the doors then? Also the air-conditioning in the lift lobbies are crazy cold. Why even have the aircon on at all as you are only in there for a few seconds?
It was a complete waste of residence money and still is, as they are always fixing the them. Just take the doors off.
I have spoken with MO several times, but you just the same stupid answers......
Thanks for any info.

Hi my friend, I totallya gree with you and I have mentioned it in the last DOC meeting. However, the management and some of other OCs objected my idea. I am only one of the 15 members and when it comes to resolution, I may not be able to get everything passed. However, I promise you that I will keep working on this issue and I hope it can be done ASAP. Thanks.

I see now that they have even added signs saying "please close the door"!? And they have the airconditioner running in there! you are only in there for about 30 seconds. surely we can survive without the airconditioner.
for the life of me I really don't understand why these doors need to be locked. if you do t have a car then you don't have access to the carpark so that is not an issue. the lifts are for people with disabilities, prams etc. having a bloodly door to open even time is rediculus. I myself leave the doors open all the time! if they insist on having doors then make them automatic.

if you don't have a car you could go into the carpark, break/steal/remove whatever you want and go back up like nothing happened. do not rely on the CCTV - nobody's looking and even less is being recorded ...

So no one can enter unless you have a car. Also as they have removed the guard from the drive way, anyone can just walk in through the road now. Having the doors on the podium level is completely ridiculous and a waste of money. They make it so hard to use if you are in a wheel chair, have a baby pram or heavy shopping. They serve NO purpose WHAT SO EVER.

ah, see where you are now. lifts are for residents only and it's not exactly shocking to have to put your octopus down is it? Or would you hire 4 more guards (in 2/3 shifts) to have the door opened? All the security is to be prepared for the lazy jobless invasion, those will be hunting for free air conditioned spaces and that's 4 good areas!
so should we get rid of the double security at each tower as well? bin the reader at the door (and the guard), and just use octopus to get into the actual residential tower.

charles not sure you really understand what I am trying to say, so I will try again. 1. The main people who use the lifts outside Tower 8 & 12 are disabled, with babies/pram or with heavy shopping. How do any of these people open the doors without trouble? ? 2. You CANNOT get into the car park without an octopus card that has been endorsed by the management office. So if you don't have a car, then you DONT HAVE ACCESS TO THE CAR PARK!

1. it's fairly easy - put the shopping bag down/leave the stroller for what it is, open the door, pick the lot up and walk out. Swing the door to a close upon exiting. How did you manage to get out of PNS and the bazaar with your shopping anyway?
The doors are there to stop people crashing into the lifts while the doors are closing. while I get your point for disabled, maybe for prams and shoppers too, it just stops people abusing the facilities available, as they do. As for removing the doors and switching off the airco in the little rooms - fine for me, just give it a month or two.
2. I got the message - maybe dont call it car park lifts if you mean the upper class escalators.

OK SO LETS PUT GUARDS AT THE TOP OF THE ESCALATORS TOO, TO CHECK EVERYONES RESIDENCY STATUS, ITS THE SAME THING! THE CAR PARK IS NOT SECURE EVEN WITH THE OCTOPUS READERS AS ANYONE CAN JUST WALK IN THROUGH THE DRIVE WAY. PEOPLE CRASHING INTO THE LIFTS? ? THAT IS JUST HONG KONG AND PEOPLE STILL ABUSE THE LIFTS ALL THE TIME. PERFECTLY ABLED BODY PEOPLE USING THEM TO GO ONE FLOOR DOWN WHEN THERE IS AN ESCALATOR ON A FEW METERS AWAY........

And FYI there is space provisioned to have a guard on top of every escalator, I think a good number of years ago there was actually someone sitting/standing there's a guard patrolling around the drive way, try to walk in and he/she will show up out of nowhere. don't whine, just try. at least the abled people that take the lifts all the time to go one floor up/down are not moaning about having to open a door really brave with your caps lock, congratulations
