Malicious or rat bait planted because of rodent infestation in the bushes? I have seen large number of rats and also Pest control contractors in the area.

Best watch your pets whatever the reason.

Then they may not have caught the guy who did the same thing a few months ago.

sorry if some are mis under standing what i ment. this was posion but out by a person to kill the dog. Most dog owners/walkers know of the rat problem and are carfull of that. Like before under the bridge it was a fish that was put out. I'm not sure what it was this time but it wasn't for the rats or bugs.

They put the poison on fish? Not meat? Strange thing to do for targeting dogs but obviously strange people who do such things.

What poison is it? Warfarin? Did the dog survive? Was there any toxicology result?

Sorry if I am asking too many questions but I would really like to know for practical first aid purposes.

On a more cautious note, I have also previously seen such good intentioned third hand reports spark wildfire "urban myths". The pet issue in CC is a contentious argument with considerable strong feeling on both sides. Without malicious cause, tales can easily get unintentionally "varied" in each telling. There's a danger of causing division based on rumour so perhaps we should wait for a little more evidence.

If there is a problem MO should be alerting all residents by way of notice and increasing patrols. Laying poison in public places is a serious public danger not only for dogs.

I hope it's not true and there's not a sadist amongst us. In the meantime, just be vigilant I suppose.

special agentK's detective skills:

poison poisson = the culprit is french, a pet hater.... possibly a woman.... jk.

This is terrible.  I don't let my pet/child eat anything thats not served on a plate or in a bowl, so i don't worry about this.

Very unfortunate to know that we have such weirdos in CC.

I agree, there are many small children that also play in the area. All it will take is for one of them to put their hands in their mouth after playing and there could be a very sick child.

I hope and prey there is no odd ball out there that is laying rat bait...  Sad

it could be just rumor or true, but as a resident i would prefer for everyone to be safe than sorry. It would only take some time for a person to find and i hope that it wouldn't be a youngster.  granted you might not let your child eat anything you or your helper didn't prepare or that was not on a plate. If someone else is watching him/her do you know what they are doing 100% of the time? As for increased patrols cc would not cover this area as it is out side the property. I will say that i think something needs to be done with the people not following the rules with in cc. i've seen and told a lot of people owners/walkers that they need to either carry or muzzel their pet. some just walk right past then when they get in front of the gaurd they pick the pet up or muzzel it. then once inside they put it down or take the muzzel off. I've even seen a few with no muzzel and no leash yet the gaurd did nothing till i approached him. That is why i still want the gaurd down by the entrance areas to enforce some rules plus check ID's as now i think it is extremly easy to gain acces to any tower and even the property in general. maybe MO is waiting for a car to be stolen like the motor bike before they do something. Feel really bad for that person who ever it may be.

Yes, being prudent is good.  With all the stated and outstanding issues pointed out on this forum, CC can easily get a really bad name out there if:

Some pilot slips on the tiles and sues for damages.
Peoples cars get stolen
Someone who doesn't belong here sneaks in and has their home violated
Someone gets bit and catches rabies
A pet / child gets sick from the surrounding area

Really glad that there is more enforcement as to who can get onto the CC Shuttlebus.

Putting these into perspective, I would now think less of the front seat policy and would like to see more emphasis on tower security (which I don't mind having the security guard hassle people for their cards.  I know the guards recognize me, but I am happy to scan my card for them.  I dun like how some people think that they are VIP and try to just walk in.)

In regards to the poison, I have no idea how they can catch the pervert who is doing this.  I see cameras everywhere.  Could they just use the cameras to see if there's any fishy activities? - pun intended   Wink

If I'm not mistaken, we had a similar case of poisoning somewhere near Tower 15 a few months ago.

yup.. i remember that too... case of the poison poisson.... i swear the person has got to be french!! jk... i like french people in general.

This act of cruelty is all risk, no gain.  Therefore, I doubt it's a local cuz locals don't generally do things unless they can profit from it.   Tongue

I asked MO what they were doing about this and they said they had not received ANY report of poisoning, now or previously

Given MO are not the most forthcoming and honest people, Hunter can you name your source?

The MO would deny knowing such things. That's what they are dressed up and paid for .. not to get their hands dirty

You're right Gooner of course. Silly me!

For a moment I forgot the MO mantra. "See no evil, hear no evil and do bugger all"
