Last night tere was a meeting of the DOC.

From what I have heard it went off very well.

They have elected officers;
They have told the MTR that meetings will be open to the public (MTR not happy about this);
They are on the case about the floor tile surface and having a pendulum rather than static test;
They have formed committees to look at contracts, dogs, children, budget;
They told the MTR to come up with proper info on the Security and Bus contracts;
They have decided to do proper research on the phase 4 bus;
They have decided to do proper research on the bus octopus reader.

All in all from what I have heard it was a well attendede meeting and that owners as well as committee members were allowed and encouraged to air their views.

Well done DOC you are off to a good start.

Z -

Your 4th point ... The DOC doesn't need to and doesn't have the right to look into dogs / children for starters.

What the DOC should do and must do is .....

- Clean up the crap called the MO that runs and manages our estate
- Work with logic and common sense which doesn't prevail and is grossly lacking for a few years now
- Fight towards the Car Park arrangement of "if you don't buy, you can't rent"
- Work on renovating the pigeon hole called a "Clubhouse" with one small scrawny gym for 15/16 Towers
- Shuttle Buses with their engines idling when the drivers are taking a break, having a smoke
- The mis-use and alleged abuse of Management Fees

I could continue if you'd like me to.

The point I am trying to make is simple - the DOC can play their part without having to overplay it. There's a line to everything, don't cross it in the name of the DOC trying to help put things into perspective. Or next, we would imagine the DOC would be working on lowering domestic violence and divorce cases.

Yeah, this is a pretty comprehensive list.  With regards to dogs & children, I'd have to agree that these are domestic issues as how one person trains their kids is their business.  I don't agree with some of the parctices that parents use to teach their kids, but for anyone to undermine that parent without taking responsibility for the long term result is empowering the child to rebel against their parents.  With regards to pets, so long as they don't leave any lasting evidence that should be sufficient.

Well said.  Theres no need to overplay it as micromanagement of people's lives will reduce the quality of life which is the benefit of living at CC (at least thats what the marketing would suggest).

I imagine the reference to children is to do with providing facilities etc for them rather than telling parents what to do regarding child rearing and the dog discussion is probably to do with trying to fix the current problems we have with dogs that has been discussed many times on this forum.

No, What was it all about?  They didn't want to clean up after their dogs anymore?

Thanks AK - glad you agree.

A word of caution .... given the fact that the Author of this post is "you know who", you might wanna discount 95% of what's mentioned. Just about 5% may hold weight. And I'm trying my best to be polite here.
