Just to set the record straight - there was a small protest last Saturday by dog owners, but we are trying to discuss inside the DOC how to proceed and then want to meet with the dog lovers to try to address their concerns in a way that is appropriate for all residents of CC.
On the issue of children, we were approached by a group who wanted to improve facilities for children and we want to work with them to see what we can do to make this a more children friendly place.
On the following list:
Fight towards the Car Park arrangement of "if you don't buy, you can't rent" - Work on renovating the pigeon hole called a "Clubhouse" with one small scrawny gym for 15/16 Towers - Shuttle Buses with their engines idling when the drivers are taking a break, having a smoke - The mis-use and alleged abuse of Management Fees
we are completely in agreement, and encourage everyone to give their suggestions as to the issues that are important to them. We are indeed very involved in dealing with next years budget and are telling MO that a proposed increase in management fees is not acceptable, and looking for ways how we can save money by cutting out waste.

Jonathan,
Thanks. Have seen next years budget on the noticeboard.
The largest item is security. Simple way to reduce man fee is tol cut security by 50%. HK is one of the safest cities in the world, all this security is not needed.
Also cut the MTR staff... there is no need for more than 1 mtr staff member in the lobby at any time...

Jonathan - I'm sorry if I missed out who the "we" is that you mentioned completely agrees with my list of grievances above. I reckon it's the DOC you're referring to, but I could be wrong. If it indeed it's the DOC, how do we contact the DOC ? Can we have their names (the hierarchy - who's in charge and who's on this ladder), the tel nbrs, the emails ID's to approach when we often find ourselves talking to a wall / morons called the 'MO' ? It's great to see us moving ahead coz quite frankly the last 5 years have been a step forward and five steps backward. We appreciate the DOC's efforts put in and thank you guys for standing up for what we believe in. There are extremists out there with a "my way or the highway" attitude and this heads up to you, is to request rationale, common sense and logic behind every petition - stupid or not. Thank you!

I think the names of those on the committee are public knowledge. Stanley Poon is Chairman and Willem Myburgh is secretary. You can contact us through the MO or by coming to our meetings. Agendas are posted in each of the lobbies with the time and place we are meeting. The next meeting is 27th November. Keep an eye on the notice boards. Or you can write to me at jrosshk@hkstar.com. We are eager to hear ideas from other owners. At the moment the issues on the front burner are 1) slippery tiles (MO has agreed to replace at their cost), 2) dogs and 3) keeping next years busget down (certainly curtailing security costs and MO costs are high on our list). We have also held hearings with the MO on the details of the security contract and the cleaning contract, and the running of the clubhouse is also in our sights. So keep the ideas coming, through this site or by writing to me directly, and we'll try to do what is best for all the owners and CC.

Can the Carpark issue be added to the issues being currently discussed ? It's unfair and a slap in the face for us owners

hi all, I will come to the next meeting on 19/11 and I would love to work together with all our CC OCs. I am happy to offer my little help if needed. Let's all work together for our residents. Thanks.

if the identities and contact details of the DOC members are "public knowledge" why can't a list be placed on this forum?

I will ask whether the names can be posted. But I think people don't want to be bombarded with e-mails (especially from spammers), so better if communications be done through a regular channel, such as MO or one or two members who don't mind. You should be able to easily find out who your OC members are for your phase though.

I don't want to start something here .... but .... how do we Owners know that the DOC keeps owners interests in mind when pushing for changes or the betterment of our Estate ? You mentioned that after the Protest by dog owners, the DOC were discussing "within" how to proceed. So who calls the shots and takes these decisions "within" ? Solely the DOC ? Or is a decision taken after collective mutual consent of owners / dog owners / residents. The point I'm trying to make is ....it's great that we have a DOC in place, but there should be full transparency on all issues discussed that concerns us owners and residents. For starters, if the names of those on the committee is really public knowledge, why would you need to check if the names can be posted ? Communicating via a single channel is fine so long as our views and comments are being heard and worked on in a neutral, fair and just manner.

Protest? Did you ask yourself why there was a protest, if there was any. Was it because the DOC/sub committees didn't ask others residents they said they represent of their opinions and issued letters or took action against the others? Or was it because the respectable members of yours think that they have the power over all of us once they were being elected and agreed to any increase of mgt fee? Or was it because one member of yours (I see you as a group) decided that he has the rights to do some private patrol and threaten/harass other residents and dare to ask the mgt to provide a parking for his bike, which other residents have to spend $400k to buy one? Or during the meeting wasting time to discuss some ridiculous ideas such as altering the lift system so as to restrict the rights to use all lifts for dog owners, which will definitely cost over millions of dollars? Was it because some of them realize that these so-called ideas were so ridiculous that they afraid to be recognized?

Elected by the people, for the people. Voters, the curse of the elected representative Contact via the MO. Might as well howl at the moon or use pigeons! Why can't they post the minutes on this forum as well as noticeboards. Might get some meaningful feedback.
