There is this really great little cafe that recently opened across from International in Caribbean Bazaar called, Eighty Eight. It's quite small and a bit easy to miss (it's almost directly across the entrance of International). I've frequented the place for a few months now and love it! I don't see many people in there and I think it's because it's hard to spot and not well advertised, also it seems to be geared toward expats. I wanted to post about it here in case others haven't heard about it. I know City Gate has Pacific, but if you want something a little closer and less expensive this place is great! It's not a sit down place, it's more of a grab and go, but the staff is wonderful. They offer an array of fresh fruit juices, lattes (iced or hot), espresso, desserts, sandwiches and even fresh salads. They offer specialty organic foods and teas as well. I've always had a positive experience when I have gone. I really like the place and I hope that others will check it out! Cheers! Grin

It's great and hopefully people will support it so it won't close down and be replaced by another real estate office !! The cream puffs are to die for !! Great place ...

I agree with you wholeheartedly Peregrine and that is exactly why I wanted to post about. I would hate for it to shut down. And yes, one more real estate office and they might as well change the name from Caribbean Bazaar to Real Estate Bazaar  Undecided.

I also really like this place but TBH I am surprised they are still in business.  I don't see many people going in there, but having somewhere that sells OK coffee and great desserts is a plus for us.  Anything to replace the endless stream of estate agents is, like you say, most welcome.

regardless to its nature, we should support all business here in TC as long as it delivers good product and service quality. They help employment as well as enhance our choices too.

price is proportionate to quality. i don't mind paying more if the goods are of great taste and of great quality which the Eighty Eight Cafe delivers.

One suggestion I had for the place is that they open earlier and try to catch the morning coffee trade.  I'd happily go in there for a fresh coffee before getting the bus to work..... I've told them before, but so far nothing yet.  BTW - wasn't there rumours of a pizza place coming to the plaza?  Or was that just talk...
